2022-2023 Studio Series

2022-23 marks a new season of plays for Bottle Tree Productions – our Studio Series. The idea behind the Series is to feature Kingston writers, acted, created and directed by Kingston creatives, and to pair the shows with Kingston music. The evening of entertainment needs to run in one act, about one hour, and the ticket price is low, with very low fees.

All of the Studio Series productions are profit-share shows! We are excited to be able to support the people who support us.

COMEDY Time Flies: An Evening of Ives is the exception to the “Kingston writers” rule. I have wanted to produce some David Ives short plays for a long time, and the Studio Series is the perfect format, so I went with that to start the season. Directed by Rachael McDonald, starring Helen Bretzke, Bryan McDonald, Steve Spencer, and Kyla Todd. Animated video by Steve Spencer, Backdrops and Masks designed by Kyla Todd. Stage Manager, Sound & Lighting Designer, Anne Marie Mortensen. (October 20-30, 2022) Time Flies, Mere Mortals, Degas C’Est Moi by David Ives. Featuring music by The Gertrudes

COMEDY Two Actresses by R.J. Downes (February 9- 25, Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30, Sunday matinees Feb. 11 & 18 at 2:30pm.) Two friends share a life-long love of community theatre, and will go to great lengths to land the perfect roles. Starring Anne-Marie Bergman and Naomi Greer-Ballance. Directed by Anne Marie Mortensen. Featuring the music of Kelsey McNulty aka Good Fortune.

THRILLER A Stitch in Time Saves Nine written and directed by Eirik Rutherford (June 8 – 24, Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30, Sunday matinees at 2:30pm.) Sandra is having another hard day with Roy — trying to get her husband, who lives with dementia, to his appointment — when an unwanted stranger arrives, turning a bad day into a nightmare. Stage manager Freddy VanCamp, cast TBA, musical artist featured TBA.
