Bottle Tree Productions is a Katarokwi/Kingston, Ontario-based theatre company. We acknowledge that this land is the traditional territory of Haudenosaunee Confederacy, and of the Anishinaabe Community. We acknowledge that treaties have not been honoured. We acknowledge that Indigenous cultures are living cultures and atrocities are still being committed against them today. We acknowledge that colonialization has created a society that perpetuates privilege for people of European descent at the expense of the original people of this land, of people of colour, and of trans-gender, non-binary, gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, queer, questioning, and two-spirited people.
We will educate ourselves and each other about the unvarnished history of Canada, which must include the history of the people who are the original caretakers of Katarokwi/Kingston. We believe in the truth, and will work toward reconciliation and healing.
