We are looking for Kingston or local area one-act plays to produce in our Studio Series for future Seasons. We accept scripts year-round, although it may take time for us to read them. If you wonder about the status of your script, please email.
The ideal play:
– is an original one-act play
– runs between 45 – 75(ish) minutes
– has a small cast size (up to 6 people)
– does not require a complex set or costumes
– has simple or no set changes
– has not been produced in Kingston and area in the last 5 years *
*EXEMPTION – if your play was or is part of the Domino Theatre One-Act Play Festival, you may submit for consideration. We are looking for plays that have not had a run of performances.
– is suitable for an adult audience (not a children’s play)
Studio Series plays are a profit-share model. Writers are part of the profit-share, and do not get paid royalties as such. Each run is 8 performances over 2 weeks, with an option for a third week based on ticket sales. The run and includes one matinee per week. The expected production times are October/November, and February/March. Ticket prices are set by Bottle Tree Productions and are the same for all Studio Series shows. Typically, the ticket is set at $20 +hst +fees. It may be possible to livestream a performance.
